Thanks to all who attended, shared, and contributed to our Happy Howl-O-Ween Fundraiser benefitting Take Paws Rescue and Youth Rebuilding New Orleans. It was a howling success!!!
On Saturday, October 29th, 2022 Team Cool Murphy, together with Pepp’s Pub, and Youth Rebuilding New Orleans, hosted Howl-a-ween! A Fundraiser for Take Paws Rescue. The venue was packed inside and out despite a rain delay!
A slew of well behaved pups to came out in full costume and participated in our costume contest. The categories included: best pup, best human, and couples costume (for people and pups dressed together). Prizes were provided by NOLA Bark Market & Pepp's Pub and included loads of doggy treats and attire as well as concert tickets to House of Blues.
Attendees enjoyed delicious BBQ coutresy of Piggy's Pantry a delicious and hot new pop up. They also enjoyed specialty puptails courtesy of Pepp's Pub, loads of treats, crafts, art, food, and so much more.
Hundreds of dollars were raised via a raffle offering a custom built dog house courtesy of the helpful hands at Youth Rebuilding New Orleans. As well as doggy stairs and swag bag courtesy of Murphy Property Services and a doggy crate and swag bag courtesy of Team Cool Murphy.
All funds raised went directly to Take Paws Rescue and Youth Rebuilding New Orleans.
Take Paws Rescue is a tightly knit network of local volunteers dedicated to providing safe, loving, rehabilitating foster homes while searching for the dogs' forever home. They have helped hundreds of dogs find families, including mine! All donations go towards the costs of vetting, feeding, and caring for the dogs in foster.
Youth Rebuilding New Orleans is a local non-profit focused on providing vocational opportunities to New Orleans youth through a workforce development program that trains them in construction. Their mission is to reduce blight by rebuilding distressed and foreclosed homes while engaging local youth in the recovery and rebirth of the New Orleans area. They have done this, teaching youth and leveraging volunteer labor, by building and rebuilding safe, affordable, and healthy homes. They have been very active in providing immediate post disaster assistance to anyone in need including tarping roofs at no charge, debris clean up, etc.
Pepp’s Pub is a dog-friendly, community pub based in Faubourg Marigny who specializes in bringing neighbors together and prides themselves on being dog friendly and “people tolerant.”
